We have company at our house...uninvited, self-assuming guests. They love our trellis out back and have made themselves at home. This morning there were at least twelves webs that they had spun during the night, working hard while we all slept. While I'm sure they were not in competition with each other to win the "best looking house", "the most effective food-catcher" or "the handsomest spider" awards, they were pretty magnificent to watch! I wish there was a good way to capture how intricately they had woven their webs all through the sides and upper part of the trellis, connecting each web with the others as if they were all family or something. But here are a few pictures of their handiwork...

Great pics..but eeeeeewwwww!!! I DO NOT like spiders. Your post reminds me of my husband and boys last week. They took our small hand held vac and went along the house sucking up spiders they could find. They got some pretty big ones....and Josh ended up having to take the vaccuum apart to clean it out from all the silly spiders. Grose!!!
Thank you for sharing; the pictures are beautiful.
Are you feeling better than you were, and is Benjamin?
Love,

And you know, this all "just happened, over millions and billions of years"!! The magnifisence of God's creation never ceases to amaze me, even when I don't particularly enjoy the creepy crawlies!!

As much as spiders give me the creeps (ew, I got goosebumps just typing that!) these ones and their webs are so pretty....from a distance! :) The amount of work they accomplish in a short time is amazing, and they keep the annoying bugs down too. Rachel used to "feed" them when she was younger by trapping flies in the webs. She grew some really huge ones! Yes, she was the tomboy! :)
Those webs are beautiful! Thanks for sharing! Gabriel has been studying spiders in his science lessons, and I'm so thankful for all of the pesky bugs that they eat!
THe pics are beautiful. We have these guys moving in our garage. I don't mind spiders as long as they aren't on me. I usually let them live and eat my bugs. Unless they are too close or inside, of course.
Nice pictures, but hate spiders!!
