NKJV Greatest Stories of the Bible

This book review was done for Book Sneeze, the book review division of Thomas Nelson Book Publishing. I was not compensated for this review, but did receive a free copy of the book.

This hardback, collectible edition is a great family resource to have on hand. It is not a version of the Bible, but rather is a unique compilation of 250 best-known Bible stories. These stories are in fact excerpts of the Bible taken from the New King James Version. Each story gives the chapter of the Bible from which it was taken. The stories are in order from Genesis to Revelation and the book also includes a great table of contents at the beginning for easy reference.

I enjoyed reading through this book and found the easy format very conducive to reading a lot or a little at a time. It would be ideal for personal enjoyment, family devotions, or reading aloud to your children. The index at the back of the book makes it easy to find a story about a certain Bible character (i.e., Joshua or Moses) or a certain event (i.e., battle of Jericho or plagues).

The Girl We Call Munch

From the time she was only a few weeks old, she has earned her nickname "Munch" many times. She has her daddy's sense of humor and loves to make people laugh. To her, as long as she has her brother's approval, that is all that is needed (no matter what the consequences from her mom or dad may be). She truly is a delight to our hearts...though we seem to be right in the midst of the "terrible twos" right now.

In these pictures she decided to use the diaper rash cream to treat her baby's doll bottom. And to clean it up, she had to use half a package of wipes. In the five minutes it's taken me to right this blog post, she has "cleaned" the dining room table with the dishcloth and is now currently working on scrubbing the inside and outside of the sliding glass door with the same rag. Life's never dull around here, for sure!

A Princess Tea Party

For Sarah's 8th birthday party, we celebrated with a princess tea party at a local tea house. Everyone chose an entree and a beverage (which was served in their own individual tea pot!).

A talented lady in our church made Sarah's cupcakes. They were chocolate with raspberry filling. So pretty and delicious!!

The little princesses enjoyed their "tea" and sipped it like ladies!

Sarah loved spending this special time with her friends.

Happy birthday, Sarah!

35 Weeks!

Hard to believe...we're at 35 1/2 weeks. Baby is growing well and all 5 of us enjoy feeling the baby's kicks and hiccups each day. Not much longer and we'll be meeting this little one and holding him/her in our arms!

Mom came down one day last week and helped me finish up some sewing for the baby. She made a cover for my boppy and hemmed 6 receiving blankets. I'm finally feeling prepared!

Happy Birthday Sarah!

Happy birthday to our 8 year old, Sarah! You have brought us many smiles and delights over the past 8 years. Your love and talent for music makes us so excited to watch and see how God will use you in the years to come. You love the Lord and desire to tell others about what God has done for them. We pray you will allow Him to use your life however He sees fit!

Talking Walls

"If your walls could talk, what would they say?"

I won a giveaway some time ago and received this "Welcome" sign made of vinyl lettering. Finally this weekend I got it put up in the living room and LOVE it! I had also ordered this definition of a boy that I saw, so that's hanging in Benjamin's room. The vinyl lettering is very easy to apply to the walls and it comes off easily as well (a plus since we're renting). If you're interested, the website that I used is Talking Walls.

My Husband, the Baker

These delicious cinnamon rolls were made by Garth! They rival the ones at Cinnabon and sure were tasty.
